To this day it makes me laugh to think about the time when I was 8 or 9 and Dad's friend, Amos, came over to drink coffee and play cribbage with my dad. Dad suggested that Amos and I play while he put on a fresh pot of coffee. Amos thought he should take it easy on me, being that I was just a young girl. Little did he know how much cribbage experience I had. I double skunked him when it was all said and done, and I can still remember my dad, being the good friend he was, cackling and teasing Amos about the loss.
Now I'm the mom who's teaching her son how to play card games. It's hard to believe how quickly time passes. Thankfully, we have the memories that last a lifetime.
