Help Me Get in Aunt Kathy's Pocket!

We had an amazing time with Aunt Kathy and Uncle Kevin, time that lifted spirits and prepared us for difficult days ahead. Time where love surrounded all of us. I cried as I watched the Versa (Meggie's new car!) leave our driveway this morning. Knowing that in a few short weeks I get to see four of my favorite people was the only thought that stopped the tears.

All week long, Kathy told Luke that she needed to put him in her pocket and pull out his sweetness whenever she needed comfort. Luke understood this on a very literal level. As Kathy and Kevin prepared to leave this morning, he was certain he was traveling with them. He actually tried to crawl in Aunt Kathy's pocket. I took this sweet but blurry video of him asking me to help him get in her pocket.

Aunt Kathy told Luke he was going to ride to Minnesota with me instead of them. As soon as we came into the house, Luke was gone. When I went in search for him, I found him sitting in the van in the garage. Sweet child. He loves his aunt and uncle. We all do.

Another Fun Day

Today's adventure was a success. We rented a boat for $6 at a state park and the boys fished while I took pictures and rowed. Between Jack and John, five fish were landed. Luke caught his red practice fish at least 15 times, too. In Jack's own words it was, "Another fun day..."

Morning Work

Here's a couple videos of Luke and Jack doing their morning "work". Luke is practicing upper case letter recognition. Jack is practicing lower case letter recognition. Both boys enjoy their "work". I think the blog may cut off some of the frame, so you may want to watch from YouTube.

Father's Day 2013

Father's Day Campout

Happy Father's Day to the guy who makes our lives one big adventure. We love you.

Do you remember back in the days when Jack still wore a sleepsack that John and Jack tried camping on the back deck? They gave it a go again last night with similar results. Jack came inside to go to bed sometime around 9:10. The funny thing is that he had to wake up his dad to unzip the tent to get inside.

Norfolk Zoo

We were treated to a day at the zoo by our sweet neighbors today. The boys had so much fun. We were really close to all of the animals, and the weather was perfect. I'm so thankful to be making friends who the boys and I enjoy being with so much.
