It's Done!

The final screw has been tightened.

The boys' swing set is finished.

The slide is FAST

and fun.

If giggles and grins are any indication,

the boys love it.

Ignoring Whistles and Just Having Fun

Remind me to teach Jack to freeze when the lifeguard blows the whistle at the pool because obviously it's not an innate skill. It's also obvious that we were responsible for all the whistles blown today.

But we had a great time anyway. Despite a quick dunk that left him clinging to me for fifteen minutes, Luke recovered and continued on his path to being a daredevil. He mastered the slide. He refused to hold my hand. He ruled the pool. Jack was so independent that it left me a little breathless and reflecting on how much he has grown up in the past few months.

When Megan joined us, the boys had even more fun. She brings out the giggles and grins in both of them.

Donut Date

I picked John up from work last night and went to have coffee with some friends. John took the boys to McDonalds for dinner and to use the playplace. Everyone was sleepy on the way home, including me and John apparently, because we completely forgot to pick his car up from Nissan. So, this morning I got the boys ready early and we took Daddy to work. I thought it would be fun if the boys and I went out for donuts since we were out so early. Jack thinks there is nothing better than a donut with chocolate icing and sprinkles. I have to agree.

Dump Truck Excitement

Jack went to the rock quarry with his grandpa yesterday afternoon to order rocks for under the swingset. Once he found out a dump truck was going to deliver the rocks, he could hardly contain his excitement. The first thing he said to me this morning was, "Is the dump truck coming today to bring the rocks, Mom?"

We had plans to have the Perlick and Whorton kids over this morning before the plans for the dump truck's visit were ever made. What a bonus it was to our playdate! Erin was a total trooper and hung around long enough for Ross, whose heart was set on being here, to see the truck. Jack, Luke, and I are going outside after Luke wakes from his nap to play in the rocks. I'm sure there will be more pictures later. In John's text today he said, "If there aren't pictures, it didn't happen." There's a lot of truth in that around here.
