Weekend Highlights

My camera doesn't leave the house as often as it used to, but when we took our new kite out for its first flight in our neighborhood's central park it came along. Flying kites was a highlight of our weekend along with going to see The Cat in the Hat at the children's theater and taking Jack shopping for Teacher Appreciation Week. 

Jack's First T-ball Game

Jack had his first t-ball game tonight. He was pretty excited about his uniform and new bat. Each child got one chance to bat. The coach pitched five balls, and if the child hadn't hit one, the kid hit off the tee. Jack took five good swings before getting a nice hit off the tee. 

Spring Break Photo Dump

Megan came out to spend Spring Break with us. We are always so happy to have her here. We hiked at DuPont State Forest, we went to the zoo, Megan and the boys dyed Easter eggs, we all stayed at a cabin in Highlands, NC where we hiked up Whiteside Mountain and Glen Falls, and we participated in the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. We finished Spring Break by pulling out all our old, ugly bushes and giving the yard a facelift that felt very satisfying. It was a wonderful break from the day to day busyness that is our life right now. Thanks for coming to see us, Meggie. We love you!
