Aw, Kitty!

Remember the kitties we brought home from Minnesota last Christmas? Well, they've turned into the sweetest cats I've ever been around. They put up with tail pulling, not-so-gentle touches, and over-the-top loving all the while purring.

Time for Chopsticks

My child basically quit eating about a month ago. I don't know how the kid survives on the limited number of calories he gets every day. So, you can imagine my surprise when he dug in and devoured a ton of Sesame Asian Noodles tonight. He couldn't get enough of them!

John explained it all to me when he said, "Well, he is an eighth Japanese." I guess I'm going to need to brush up on my wok technique and introduce Jack to chopsticks if I want him to eat.

Follow Through and Form

Erin took this picture when we went to Peek-A-Boo Playtown last week. She emailed it to me yesterday, and immediately it brought to mind my days on the basketball court. Suddenly I could hear my coach, Lloyd Carlson, lecturing me on shooting form and follow through. I'm sure his critique of Jack's shot would include, "Tuck that elbow in," and, "Your wrist should look like a swan's neck when you've finished the shot," and "Square up your body with the hoop." Hopefully this mommy learned enough during her basketball days to get Jack off on the right foot.

Jack's First Art Project

Jack's thought process from his mom's point of view: Wow, this is cool. Look at the pretty color on the paper.

Whoa, what's that on my hands?

Seriously, what's that on my hands? Let me get a closer look...

What in the world is that? I don't think I like it there.

MOM!!!! What's on my hands? Get it OFF!

I Need a Little Help From My Friends and Family

UPDATE: We're no longer looking for this car. It's been found. Thanks for all of the help.

Do you see this Hot Wheel? It's the Nissan 370Z, and I can't find it anywhere! John ahem... Jack really wants this car, and I am trying to find it for him. So, I need a little help from my friends and family. The next time you're at Target, Walmart, the grocery store, or anywhere else they sell Hot Wheels, will you look for this car? If they have 2, buy them. If they have 5, buy them. If you have to push a six year old out of the way to get it, I completely understand. I promise I will pay you back with tax and shipping, AND you will have my eternal gratitude because then I can stop looking for this silly car myself!

Just to prove that Jack actually plays with the cars and that you're not just helping my car nut of a husband, here's a picture I took of Jack playing with his cars. They really are his favorite toys. Mommy's Honor!

Everyone Grins

“I will not play tug o' war. I'd rather play hug o' war. Where everyone hugs instead of tugs, Where everyone giggles and rolls on the rug, Where everyone kisses, and everyone grins, and everyone cuddles, and everyone wins.”

Peek-A-Boo Playtown

We ran into one of John's co-workers and his wife earlier this week. We were talking about activities to try with toddlers and the other mom suggested that we try a new place called Peek-A-Boo Playtown. It was a lot of fun! They had all sorts of toys that were geared towards toddlers. Jack played for nearly two hours and would have played longer if we'd had the time! Jack tried out all the play areas which included a ball pit, a fire station, a playhouse, a grocery store, a dress up station, a basketball court, a dinosaur table, a Duplos table, many riding toys, a train table, and others I'm sure I forgot. By far his favorite play area was the train table. I have a feeling that a wooden train set will be included in Jack's letter to Santa this year. We'll definitely be heading back to Peek-A-Boo Playtown to beat the heat this summer.
