The Graduate

Last weekend was Jack's final swimming lesson. I guess we can say that he graduated from the baby level. To celebrate, Jack's grandpa and grandma bought him a swimming pool for our house.

This afternoon, Jack and I decided to invite Ross and Erin over for a dip. The boys had lots of fun playing with all of Jack's bath toys in the pool, getting in and out of the water, and splashing.

Jack showed off how he learned to blow bubbles in swimming lessons. Ross is really good at it too, but I missed that photo op.

Jack was trying to be really cool and sit on the lip of the pool. It didn't turn out so well for him.

But, he didn't seem to mind. Summer doesn't get any better than hanging out with friends at the pool.

First Taste

What's summer without popsicle juice dripping down your chin and making your fingers sticky?

Swimming Lessons Session 5

I love this series of photographs that John took today at swimming lessons mostly because I love the last photo. How cute is it that Jack thought he deserved a round of applause after his big jump into the pool? We have one swimming lesson remaining. We're going to miss it...

Trying to Beat the Heat

It's been HOT, HOT, HOT here in the south. Our family has been spending as much time as possible in the air conditioning, but we were feeling a little stir crazy yesterday. We got out the sprinkler and let Jack (and Winston) have some fun.

Swimming Lessons Session 4

We continue to work on the same skills at swimming lessons: splashing with hands, kicking with feet, blowing bubbles, dunking, reaching for balls, laying comfortably on the back, waiting for parents to jump, and jumping from the wall. Today Jack's favorite was jumping from the wall.

Swimming Lessons Session 3

No doubt about it; Jack loves swimming lessons.

Sonic Sippy Cup

Last week was a long week. John worked unbelievable hours, and Jack and I were feeling very sorry for ourselves. I've always believed that ice cream can fix almost anything. So, Jack and I took his first trip to Sonic and shared Jack's first chocolate malt. He went nuts for it! I filled his sippy cup up while I was parked at Sonic. Before I'd made it the 10 miles home, he was squealing for more. I had to pull over and refill his cup. Needless to say, next time I'll be upgrading to a larger sized malt so I get my fair share.

Growing Too Fast

My daddy bought me this Nissan shirt before I was even born.

My mommy teased him and told him that I'd be sixteen before it fit.

I think it made her a little sad that it fits already.

She said something about how fast her little baby is growing up.

I just think it's pretty cool. Vroom!
