Skinned Knees and Scooters

I got the boys scooters last week. They are both pretty excited about it and love zooming around the trails in the park. John and I are calling this our summer of skinned knees because both boys are sporting scraped knees. Hopefully they become a bit more graceful on their new mode of transportation.

Lost Tooth

Luke lost his first tooth yesterday. It's been loose for awhile, but we aren't sure when it actually fell out. I looked at him in the afternoon after a full day of playing at the park, and it just wasn't there! The tooth fairy left a very generous $2.00 for the big man. Mom isn't coping all that well. It makes me a little melancholy to know my baby in big enough to lose teeth!

Discovery Center

Grandma took the boys to the children's museum and treated us all to Julia's bakery while we were in Tennessee last week.

Introducing Obi

Our little animal lover (Luke) has been asking for a kitten for quite some time. I decided that once the spring kittens started, I was going to get one. I've been stalking the humane society's adoption list. This kitten, who the humane society named Andrew, became available yesterday. The kids and I were waiting at the humane society's door when they opened, and an hour later we were on our way home with this sweet kitty. The discussion on the way home about names was like a Who's Who list of Star Wars characters. We liked Wicket, Vader, and Gree, but when John suggested Obi as in Obi Wan Kenobi, almost all of us were sold.

Obi has done great so far. He purrs like crazy, plays with the kids, and then finds a cozy spot to nap. He's a sweet little kitten.

Spring Break Fishing With Grandpa

Grandpa took the boys fishing at one of his friend's ponds over Spring Break. The fish were a little slow to bite, so Luke was off playing with the dog before too long. Jack and Grandpa were much more persistent and even went back the next morning. The payoff was Jack hooking and reeling in his own fish.
