Eric and Betsy's Wedding

Last week we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house to help prepare for and celebrate Eric's marriage to Betsy. I took a few pictures of all the events. The weekend was a wonderful celebration of two people who are very in love. 

On Friday morning, we went to Betsy's bridal luncheon where the ladies from the families, Betsy's attendants, and close lady friends gathered to kick off the wedding weekend. Betsy's aunt and cousin hosted the event. It was absolutely gorgeous. 

Jane threw a beautiful rehearsal dinner on Friday night. The food was great. The setting was perfect. I think everyone really enjoyed it. All the toasts, including Jack's, were given at the rehearsal dinner. 

On Saturday, John and Jack got ready for their roles in the wedding; John as groomsman and Jack as ring bearer. They were both so very handsome. Luke also put on a suit to be my date to the wedding. 

The ceremony was beautiful. The priest was wonderful. Then it was off to the reception where the boys danced the night away. Luke snatched a new hat from the photo booth for every new song. Jack had moves that I didn't know about. It was such fun to watch them having the time of their lives. Congratulations to Eric and Betsy! We couldn't be happier for you. 

He's Back!

Luke was the first to head downstairs after rest time yesterday. He stopped at the big window on the landing and soon was yelling for me and Jack to hurry and see the turtle. We threw on our shoes (Notice Luke's are on the wrong feet. Sweet boy.) and went outside to see the turtle before he made it to his hiding spot under the shed. We are glad to see this little fellow because it means we can soon head out to our favorite hiking spot and watch the turtles swim. Hopefully it warms back up a bit before the end of Spring Break week so we can get out there. Welcome back, our friend.

Jack's Sunday Adventure

Jack just started Spring Break, and today we took the bikes to downtown Portsmouth to ride along the waterfront. We ended up riding 11 miles and shared as many smiles as we rode around Portsmouth and Norfolk seeking adventure. Here are some the sights from today's outing.

Here's a tall ship moored on the Norfolk side of the Elizabeth River.

We crossed the Elizabeth from Portsmouth to Norfolk on a ferry.

Mermaid sculptures are scattered all over Norfolk. Here is one in a fountain.

The USS Wisconsin is moored in downtown Norfolk and is open for tours.

We found a Koi pond.

Here's a pagoda. There's a restaurant inside, but we did not eat there.

Easter Egg Hunt

The moms at school planned an awesome Easter egg hunt for the kids today. The kids got to eat lunch together, find over 200 eggs, and play on the playground together.
