Xterra

Last weekend we took John's Xterra up in the mountains and drove along some of the logging roads. It was an adventure that made John especially happy. It was a nice way for all of us to spend a Saturday together. 

Leprechaun Trap

Last year a pesky leprechaun turned the water in all of our bathrooms green. We aren't going to let him get away with that again this year.

My Birthday

Jack has everyone's birthdays on his calendar now. They are all marked with smiley faces and initials. So the excitement around birthdays has intensified, which I didn't think was possible. When talk turned to what gift I wanted for my birthday, I told John and the boys that I would like them to build me a picnic table for our courtyard area. So they did, and I love it. 

With John being gone all week in Atlanta, we didn't get to celebrate on my actual birthday, so John took all of us out for dinner last night. It was fun! So now I'm another year older and blessed with three pretty fabulous guys in my life. 

More Sledding

The forecast for last night was that we would get 5-8 inches of snow. So, the boys and I searched all over town for sleds. Late in the afternoon after we had been to three other stores, a friend finally texted me and told me she heard there were sleds at a store I hadn't even heard of. When we walked in the door, the woman at the counter said, "I bet you are here for sleds." Ha! So, we joined the line of five other families and scored two sleds. 

You can probably imagine the frenzy I had worked the boys into with that search. Watching the weather channel last night didn't help. The meteorologist was certain we were in for it. 

Then we woke up to a little dusting of really wet snow. Boo! But, we put on the snow pants Aunt Kathy sent last year and went out and sledded for 45 minutes or so anyway. Our outside clothes are in the dryer right now, and then the boys are going to give it another go in a bit. Here's to a SC snowstorm.

Sledding

We got an ice storm in SC last night that left us with a very good sledding hill. We had a really nice sledding hill and no sled. Luckily, neighborhood friends took care of the boys. They sure had a good time.
