We're Beginning to See Some of This...

Most of the time, Jack is a happy, delightful child to be around. I see lots of smiles like this...

and this...

and cute expressions like this...

But, I must admit that we're beginning to see a little more of this around here...

Jack is beginning to express when he is unhappy or frustrated. Lots of times he gets sad when I put him down before he is ready to be down. He wants a few more minutes of cuddling time before we go about our business! Other times he pitches a little fit because he is tired. Or sometimes it's when we have simply miscommunicated. Believe me, it's hard to understand someone who doesn't talk! Regardless of the reasons, I just wanted to tell you that we are seeing a little more of that around here.

Sidenote:
I bet I've been asked a dozen times who made this shirt for Jack. It's Ross's grandmother, Merc, who has all of the talent. She gave this shirt and some others that are just as cute to Jack for his birthday. One of these days I am going to do a post showing all of Merc's gifts to Jack just so you can be as jealous of her talent as I am! Thanks, Gigi!

Who Do You Think Jack Resembles at 1 Year?

I had a pretty funny conversation with my sister the other day. She was looking at Marion's pictures on Facebook. This photo became the topic of our conversation:

I think she said something like, "Is John really Jack's dad?" After I laughed, I asked her to explain. She told me that in this photograph she thinks Jack looks like me and that he doesn't really look like a Seaton. So, just for fun and because I like to do this every once in awhile, I'll let you be the judge. Does Jack look like me or John at 1 year? I've found a picture of me that's similar to one I've taken of Jack, and I've found one of John that is similar to one I've taken of Jack. And before you ask, Marion, no I didn't make Jack's hair red in this photo! What do you think? Who does Jack resemble at 1 year old?

Play Date

This morning, Jack laid down for his nap like any ordinary day. When he woke up, things were different at our house. People were here that were not here when he fell asleep. This confused Baby Jack, so he spent the first ten minutes after waking up looking around with this expression on his face.

Brylie and Ross ignored Jack's confusion and had a good time playing with all of Jack's toys.

Jack thought Ross's shoes were the coolest things that he had ever seen. They have little lights that flash when Ross walks. Erin was barely able to get Ross's shoes back on his feet without Jack stealing them.

Ross showed Jack another use for his toy bins. (Thanks, Ross.)

And then the boys did a little light reading before everyone headed home.

I think everyone agreed that this was a great way to spend the day.
